 9/23- We read through new music. Your folder should include: Glow, Eric Whitacre; Et in Terra Pax, John Purifoy; Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Ralph Vaughn-Williams; A Pentatonix Christmas (Medley), Mark Brymer; Now the Winter, John Parker and Ruth Elaine Schram; Keep Your Lamps, Andre Thomas; Angels from the Realms of Glory, Jay Althouse; How Great Our Joy!, Craig Courtney; Ding-a Ding-a Ding, Greg Gilpin; Mary, Did you Know?, Tim Hayden

9/30- We worked on A LOT of blending and balancing--always make sure you can hear the basses! We also worked on dynamic layering in Keep Your Lamps, notes and words for the end of the Pentatonix Medley and the beginning of the Fantasia on Christmas Carols. We voted on whether or not to commission a new work from Johanna Reynolds, and the motion carried--look for more information as this project develops!

10/7- More work on blend and balance, with the focus on the Fantasia on Christmas Carols and How Great our Joy. Watch "e" vowels (in all pieces!!). Altos worked to generally darken tone color without singing 'heavy'-- stay light on your toes!
